Silver Couloir, Buffalo Mtn, May 18 2008 |

On Sunday May 18th, Jaynes and I climbed Buffalo Mountain from Ryan Gulch TH in 2:17 and rode down Silver Couloir. We started our descent at about 10:15 AM and the couloir became very soft very quickly. There was debris from a major wet slide, probably from Saturday. We finished the RT in 4:54. For low mileage, this was surely a slog and a half. Click on the pic or the Album link above for the pics and vids.

Green Wilson hut trip, May 2-5 2008 |

Mark, Aaron, Nate H, Nate D, and myself spent a four day weekend at the Green Wilson hut near Aspen. On Saturday we climbed and skied / rode West Pearl Mtn. On Sunday we climbed into Montezuma Basin where I climbed and rode Conundrum Couloir in stellar conditions (see pic at left).

Mark, Aaron, and I hiked up Dry Gulch to The Citadel and descended its Northeast Couloir on Saturday. We had spring powder on a 6.5 hr round trip. Click the Album link above for pics and vids.

Trip Notes:
Scott Jaynes and I had a marvelous day of spring skiing at Berthoud
Pass. We hiked Mt Russell from the Pass (9:30am - 11:30am), descended
Current Creek Bench to Hidden Knoll, descended X Bowl at noon, hitched
back to the pass for lunch around 1pm, ran a lap on the west side
around 1:30pm, and pulled out around 2pm. The skies were bluebird all
day!
